HOW I BECAME INTERESTED IN HOVERCRAFTS |
My interest in hovercrafts came about by pure accident. If you read the information about me in the "About the builder" link, you know that enjoy pursuing new hobbies that capture my interest. In this case my attention was captured by a television program called "Wild Chicago" which had a segment on local area hovercraft enthusiast in the Chicago land area. The show sparked enough interest with me that I researched the hobby via the internet, became even more interested and decided that I just had to build one of these crafts.
I have never experienced driving or even riding on a hovercraft so I am going
into this project blind. My only hope is that whatever I end up building doesn't
sink when I put it on the water or blow up when I start the engines. In all
seriousness, I know this challenge will go well and I am hopeful that my wife,
kids and everyone else out there reading my words will enjoy watching me build
this hovercraft.
You will share the issues I encounter but you will also share the solutions that
will overcome them. One step at a time, with patience and determination we will
turn a pile of wood into a machine that will give years of total exhilaration.
Unfortunately the total exhilaration you wont be able to share unless you happen
to be in my area. If you are let me know and I would be happy to give you a
ride. Just make sure you bring a change of underwear as my flying skills may be
a bit rusty and the throttle is sure to be stuck on full power.
Here's to life!
Cheers!
